Thoughts on Value, Chainaxes.

My Khorne Berzerkers are out on the porch drying from basecoat. With advice from my wife, we decided to go with a metallic blue armor color, and we are either going to go with an aluminum trim or gold. I think Gold would look nice, but then I would just be exchanging one overused color scheme (World Eaters) for another (Thousand Sons). On the other hand, maybe people will think that they are facing Rubric Marines, and not be prepared for taking a Chainaxe to the kisser. I'm not above using ruses to win. Of course, these days, everybody exchanges army lists before the game, so it's unlikely they will not read it and see "Berzerkers" on it. But maybe, just maybe, the people who play against me think I suck enough to not worry much about what I bring.

On another related subject, have you noticed what a good value Khorne Berzerkers are? Not in terms of points value, but in terms of the price of the box. Now, Games Workshop is not cheap by any stretch, but when you look at 10 Space Marines costing $37.50, $33 for 12 'Zerkers seems like a plan. Or how about $33 for only FIVE Sanguinary Guard? The Downside here is that your deadly dozen don't come with squat in terms of bitz and accessories on the box. But, really, they come with enough pistols and chainswords and axes to equip each Zerk with one of each. What the hell else are you going to need?

The moral of the story, boys and girls, is buy some Khorne Berzerkers before Games Workshop reads this post and raises the price!
