Model Converting Inspiration Is Out There, You Just Have To Find It!

Been watching a lot of video games on YouTube, to pass the time when I am doing other stuff online, and happened across a great game called Darksiders. Basically, War, of "Horseman of the Apocalypse" fame, has to enter the human realm to get to the root of the D(a)emonic and Angelic infestation that drove humanity to extinction. Gameplay wise, it looks like a ripoff of God of War and Devil May Cry, but the more engaging character and interesting storyline make it, to me at least, more interesting to watch than those other two franchises.

The main protagonist himself, War, is interesting to me because, although he is ostensibly of the neutral, pro-balance faction 'the council,' his ornate armor and monstrous weapons simply smack of Chaos. In fact, when his sword is ready to upgrade, the game says it is "Swirling with chaotic energies." Furthermore, War exudes just the right aura of eternal prowess and might that is the hallmark of everyone's favorite traitor legions. That he does it all on his own only makes the (Horse)man rock it harder.

Speaking of swirling with energies, my mind locks onto this engaging character and wants to BUILD IT! So, over the next few posts, I am going to have a look at just how I am going to do it!

That sounds like a really cool idea! War definitely screams mounted Chaos Knight. I eagerly await seeing how this turns out.

I will get into this in a later post, but I am thinking of running a four HQ slot Space Wolves List and have 4 "Thunderwolf" HQ units. That way, each horseman could have its own model.

I think that Chaos Knights are going to be my jumping off point, with Chaos Space Marine bitz and maybe a little Sanguinary guard thrown in for seasoning.

Reminds of one of my favorite all-time minis by Rackham: Razheem the Insane.
